Great talk by John. I am rooting for synonym. Excited for the products they bring to the market.
I have Bitkit but I rarely use it. If I can connect my own node to it I might use it more often.

Very interesting video. Now I have several more hours of reading and watching videos about Synonym in my future. Thanks :)
It was only a 19 minute video, so maybe he would described this differently with more time.
But he says that layers don't scale well and are to complex for the user. However his environment diagram is not simple at first glance either:
Maybe he would describe this as a coding stack the user may never see or know about but I feel that is what the pro layer crowd would also say.
Example: The user will not know they went between a ecash mint, to arch, and to a lightning node.

Yeah I think they are still building out the stack. But you make a good point that graphic is a bit busy but they are showing the total ecosystem of the atomic economy from identity, to chat, to payments while the other solutions he critiques is complex just for payments. Ark, liquid and e-cash don’t have an identity or chat/apps layer.

That is what Nostr is for.

I was excited when Bitkit first came out as well. I tried playing around with it then, but it had too many features to be the lightning wallet I wanted and yet the extra features weren't built out enough to be engaging.
Synonym is interesting to me exactly because they aren't working on the same ol' same ol' lightning wallet LSP kind of thing (and because Carvalho is interesting). But I haven't been too enthralled with Pubky, either.

Yeah I can’t log into pubky on mobile. I think what really hurt Bitkey adoption was the geofencing of USA users. Thus made it another onchain Wallet.
