Here is the latest news on our project:
  • We initiated a relationship and placed our first order with a wholesaler who accepts payment in bitcoin!
We did not anticipate being able to find a wholesaler that accepts bitcoin this quickly. We placed our first order, and the products will be available for sale on our site by the end of the month. We will handle all packaging and shipping of these products.
  • We are continuing to transition away from the drop shipping model, and have initiated a relationship with two other traditional wholesalers who can give us better pricing. These new products will likely be available for sale some time in December. We will handle all shipping for these two wholesalers in house, so we will have much better control over packaging and shipping times.
  • We will be initiating weekly sales on one or two items.
  • We now accept payments with BTCPay Server (both on chain and lightning) and open node.
  • We have changed the product categories menu, which we think improves the shopping experience.
  • We now have dark mode.

Congrats, these are all great wins, in such a small timeframe since lancing! Admirable.
Keep us posted, look forward to having more details on each update! For example, how did the deal finding a local wholesaler accepting bitcoin happened? Does it send out a tax invoice for you, or are you able to settle privately 100% P2P?
How did the setup of the BTCpay server happened? Was it hard? Which provider you selected? Or it is running on your own servers?

I don't want to go into detail about the wholesaler right now. Regarding BTCPay Server, it is really simple and intuitive. We are using Luna node, connected to our node through Alby Hub for lightning, and a basic wallet for on chain.

I understand, all good. I look forward to seeing the outcomes of the wholesaler deal in the website itself.
I understand the node has been connected with BTCpay server via NWC string generated in Alby Hub, is that correct? Or does Alby Hub provide APi connection with BTCpay?
reply
Via NWC right now. The set up is fine for now. As we grow we will probably set up a more robust node on a VPS.
