You nay have heard that things are pretty bad in London, and as far as enacting a copy if 1984, they seem to be, but as for murder and stabbings:
they now stand at the lowest since monthly data started being published in 2003.

This is my favorite (recent) example of how media can distort our perceptions.
I had never seen knife fights in London, then suddenly I start seeing many videos of them on X and get the sense that there's a real problem.
Though, I wonder if zooming out to the UK would produce the same results.
