I do know there are some initiatives to fund bitcoin projects and all but every now and then I hear people talk about the issue of paying devs that maintain open source projects, especially ones which are used everywhere in many ecosystems.

Now, stacker news, for example, rewards us for contributing, according to their specific rules. I feel like that’s a pretty cool model, honestly.

However, I think it’d be even better if support for this were baked into the platform and was wondering: has anyone ever thought or already started building a git server that would allow repo owners to specify mechanisms for compensation to themselves and contributors? Quite literally having a btc wallet, lightning or on chain or both, as part of the app for each user or something of the sort and people could pay and get paid that way.
