A home miner with only ~6.73TH/s of total hashrate just mined a block for 3.146 BTC totaling $264,558.

It's awesome that we have no idea who or where blocks are mined, but it'd be cool to see a follow up story about some solo miner hitting the jackpot.
I believe the person that solo mined the latest one using self-hosted public pool verified it on reddit and posted his setup details, said what he plans to do with it, etc.
I cant get onto reddit so unfortunately can't provide a link. I think it was about a month ago.

It's hard to imagine someone being deep enough to solo mine but green enough to pay off their mortgage.
I think he legit did it with a bitaxe or something, unbelievable odds.
