These are the slides from the 1st talk at pleb.fi Austin. I know some Bitcoiners hate to say or hear anything positive about altcoins, but I think it's useful to keep up to date with what people are "valuing" in the wider ecosystem so that we can port over anything valuable that makes sense for Bitcoin. Some people think Bitcoin doesn't need to change, but I find the people who are especially opposed to nuanced thinking of this kind usually aren't developers - they have a fantasy where developers don't beg, borrow, and steal to get better ideas.
The presentation is an eye-friendly look at what is going on in the space with a focus on where Bitcoin might improve relative to what we know exists.
Bitcoin doesn't need to change

I didn't mean to imply that it does need to change. Although, I see the mistake I made. I was just enumerating all the types of people I've personally observed hating on passing glances at Ethereum's PMF. My personal opinion is that Bitcoin might eventually need to change to incentivize mining in the future.
