The school holidays are around the corner, but I must first clear tons of work in order to partake in my freedom.
One of which is to come up with descriptors for a mnemonic KIND. My school focused on inculcating the virtue of kindness this year. It wants to build up on its efforts next year. So I am tasked to write something for the prefects since I am in charge of the prefectorial board.
Yes, count it as a task that distracts busy teachers from the real task of teaching and learning.
I could stew in resentment because it was a last-minute request, but I decided to view it as a writing opportunity.
So, last night, over doing my household chores, I started to think about it. I steadfastly refused to use ChatGPT because I framed it as a writing task.
This is what I came up with at the end:
My explanatory notes as shown below in a text I sent to my colleagues this morning:
Normally, I will use ChatGPT but I decided to use my 💯 brainpower for this.
Some notes:
- I feel that the KIND acronym for prefects should stand on its own (otherwise what’s unique about them?)
- I focus on leadership skills (driving positive change) and end with the school motto
- I used alliteration so that -entrusted to enhance -eager to engage -employ my experiences -embrace my leadership endeavour will serve as mantras for them haha
Yes, I’m impressed by how I used so many affirmative words that start with ‘E’ in my write-up. Sensei not only delivers, but also provides value-added inputs!
