Calling all stackers!

Leave a comment below to let the SN community know what you're working on this week. It doesn't matter how big or small your project is, or how much progress you've made.

Just share what you're up to, and let the community know if you want any feedback or help.

I'm preparing to move Pleb Lab. I've also been continuing ideation around product simplifications (it's painful cause it's human being rather than human doing). I'm beginning to make the changes for no-trust-novemeber. I need to do our code review backlog. Also, my wife's family is in town and I'm running point.

I'm continuing my quest for a really good editor with a really good relationship with markdown. So far really excited for lossless markdown transformations.

reply

What is a lossless markdown transformation? A reversible markdown interpreter?

reply

The goal is to go from markdown to a wysiwyg representation without losing styling. Then do the reverse, wysiwyg to markdown, without losing styling either. Then we can transform back and forth confidently.

reply

Exactly this. Many platforms have abandoned this goal, and I don't even blame them: it is hard AF. Especially custom stuff.

But we're going to do this because the struggle itself is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Stacker News happy.

I am working on UtxoPocket:

Privacy-first watch-only Bitcoin wallet built with Jetpack Compose, BDK 2.2, and Tor, keeping key management offline while providing synced UTXO views and security-focused UX for Android.

Sorry I know this is a geek commuinity, but I wandered in as a science tech...This week I've been doing a simple science experiment with Grade 8 students about measuring cooling curves. For this grade level, they use basic digital/ regular mercury thermometers instead of Vernier sensors. It's actually quite fun doing it together with the kids.

I'm helping a relative, who is a Venezuelan writer to sell his work for SATs.

The books are in Spanish and are Epubs.

I created an E-store using Flash, you can access here: https://app.paywithflash.com/product-gallery/124?user=4ae89f2ee7f68dd79d07f6d4eea6fcd2329f80eb1c3cc09bdf8f5776116c446d

Also I posted on Agora #1291358
So far, not much success.

just spent about 8 hours total adding mac support to the Lightning.Pub installer

should have taken 1-2 fml

did get a hackintosh vm running in the process at least so I don't have to crud up and switch over to the mini we use for ios builds

also since mac doesnt have a simple systemd like tool it gave me the idea to add cli aliases like lpub-status

also terminal QR is coming:

I'm figuring out how to optimize queues in BullMQ. The problem I keep running into is I have a slow Backblaze server-side-copy job that can take 3+ hours and it blocks other, fast jobs from running. I think the solution is more queues, each for specific jobs. The slow job processors can go in their own queue, and the fast jobs can go in their own queue.

I have family visiting. I am blessed to have them this week.

Next week I am excited to get back to my studies and projects.

I cannot wait to share them all with you.
