I recently had this problem with my local credit union.. obviously, why would I use a major bank (cough * convenience * cough).
their update cost me some frustration cycles, and I spent probably 4 hours taking it out on their hold music looking to get it rectified.
the point of the response is to let you know of the third option: if your bank, using a 3rd party tech, shotgun KYC's your passport and face photos in order to log in to the Mobile interface (both web and app are obviously wrapped web apps, single solution), you can always leave them with a middle finger face-pic instead of what they're looking for... but you have to be willing to drag anchor in their customer service queue if you want to talk to the CTO
