Don’t know why but this saddens me
well to be fair, his job was basically "Liquid focused".
I think Liquid is nice and I've used it, including issued a few test assets on it. However its a hard sell for mainstream adoption.
Blockstreams biggest failure has been not creating a client that tightly integrates: BTC, LN, and Liquid into a more seamless experience. You shouldn't "ask" what wallet for the user to use, instead you use ask the user "what to do" and then the software chooses appropriate backend tech to accomplish what they want.
I believe if Blockstream could do this, it would attract other wallets to copy and thus push Liquid adoption. Furthermore, Blockstream seems to have a bit of a mess in their wallet product category: Aqua vs Green....why?

It seems good though - it sounds like he'll be more directly focused on Bitcoin and less focused on Blockstream products.
Also, I always thought his gaming company was a past thing. I didn't realize he was working on both.

If he and Kempis can start the dialogue in Mexico, we all win.
And if they actually pull it off, beers are on me.
Let's see how it goes, though.
