I'm starting to get worried about your mental health; it surely can't be good to focus on this as much as you seem to. I'd say I've been there, and it was a horrible experience. I try to mostly ignore it now. But I also understand that you focusing on this is more or less your work, which wasn't the case for me. Mhh, though spot 🙈
I'm also starting to worry because it sounds like you think this tweet is as dumb as everything else, but I think this is exactly what "release candidate" means: it's meant for testing. I see nothing wrong with this tweet.
In my opinion, you should cut him/her some slack for the failing tests, even when it’s about code we both strongly disagree with.

You are probably right that I'm spending too much time on this. Best course is usually to ignore it. In my defense, I did ignore all this business about spam and such for a couple years.
But this year has felt like one wackadoodle thing after the other, each more absurd. I keep meaning to put it down and move on to other things, but then here comes some new, next-level horrible idea.
What's the line? Just when I thought I was out, they reel me back in.
I'm hooked. I gotta see how this story ends.
