I differ on one point with this article:
"Most companies are efficiency-obsessed. Hence, they also expect AI solutions to increase “productivity”, i.e., efficiency, to a superhuman level."
What I've seen is that it's really not about efficiency as it is about money. Less cost, more profit, more income, and more rewards. Efficiency and metrics are just buzzwords to translate effort into monetary results. Automation for the sake of automation tends to be smoke and mirrors from the real motivation. This is why, now, with so much invested in AI, they have to produce real monetary results. Well, the only way to produce quick financial impacts are to slash payroll. Ergo, layoffs.
