You don't need to have an extraordinary career.
God has a purpose for you, but you don't know what it is. But if you pray humbly and patiently to know it (and for nothing else), you will (hopefully) be illuminated. YMMV.
Everybody has a purpose, but by definition only a few people will be exceptional / extraordinary. So if you are one of those people, great go to town, but if you are just a normie you still have a purpose, quiet your mind and get receptive to figure out what it is.
Don't do anything out of pride, do because something needs doing and specifically needs doing by you. "Change the world" yeah right, maybe, but you could also change it for the worse. So don't envy those who have more worldly success than you.
Find your level with selflessness and introspection and focus on the doing not the achievement or the praise. Harder than it sounds.
You are asking the right questions, so good on you.
Now get off my lawn.
