Hmmm...the competition thing at work is a fallacy. Management doesn't give a crap about who is the best; they just want to see results that cost less. If one can do the work of three, cool. Fire two, keep one and overload. Teams are supposed to function as that, teams, not one player and bunch of sacrificial lambs. That point gets lost in today's corporate company model, and then everyone wonders why performance falls.
Not meant as advice but as an interesting read.
