Sad. These things were a cultural phenomenon.
We owned one, but didn't end up using it much. If I had to critique it, the worst thing about it was that it didn't seem to do a thorough enough job. It struggled to navigate complex spaces and didn't get corners well. It was also liable to bump into things and knock things over. Too many preconditions and babysitting required for it to work well, to the point where we just ended up vacuuming ourselves.
