Why would I need an app for SN? Is it so hard to open SN on a mobile browser? Is it really necessary to open SN on a mobile? Why people use mobiles for everything? I use it only to use the call phone function and pay with LN wallets. That's all.

Right now I admit stacker.news mobile web is better than Bsats app.
I only work on the app during weekend, cannot catch all the features @k00b added.
So I didn't promote the app very much...
In technical perspective, app should have better user experience than mobile browser.
Just as you said, you paying with LN wallets on mobile. I am trying to add wallet feature on Bsats app, so people can spend their earned sats just like Phoenix Wallet..

Mobile web experiences can really be done brilliantly. And I disagree mobile apps should technically have a better experience.
Mobile apps have an advantage that they are targetted to a single platform or experience. Whereas websites work anywhere.
Take my rant with a grain of salt. I'm an old school web developer and struggle when useless apps are pushed when a mobile site would suffice.
Apps IMO have an market advantage that they are fancy bookmarks on people's homescreens.

I actually like the Bsats app. I can get to stacker quicker than the browser and its a pretty well written app imo.

What do you mean "faster"? miliseconds? Are those miliseconds so important in your life?
reply
With the browser, I have to open it, then click a bookmark or type address. With bsats it's one click, and I'm in "recent"
reply
Less taps or clicks to get into it.
reply
sir... I don't even click or tap. I just save SN in a browser tab and is open. Not even have to login. Faster than you can imagine. BTW. I barely use mobile devices. But that SN tab is just in case I am going to shit and I get bored...
reply
So… what if you wanna take a shit? Do you read the news paper or read the tag on the bottles? Maybe stare at the void and get lost in your head?
I dunno about you but I’d rather read stacker news on the phone and the touch of a finger. Faster, easier and convenient than bringing my laptop.
reply
If am constipated, yes, I take a long read of SN. But my browser already is connected with SN. Also I don't need to be logged in to read. Typing on a mobile I found it hard when I take a shit. What should I do first? Wipe my ass or respond to a shitcoiner on SN?
I don't use mine much either but it is always with me. I keep location off completely, but doesn't matter though. They can triangulate, and im sure they are probably still tracking my location anyways.

Hey FBI agent! Are you reading his post? FUCK YOU!
Read my ass, I don't give a shit.
reply
Maybe you do, but a lot of people don’t want or don’t like to use the web browser. People use mobiles for everything because why not? Is the most compacted and convenient way to fetch for information, such is the way of technological evolution.
reply
people should re-consider using their mobiles for everything. A mobile device is a fucking spyware in your hands. Limit the use of it, for fuck sake!
reply
pretty much nailed it
mobile phones are spyware devices designed to take the control out of the users. The manufactures, the carriers, the platform developers, the app stores, they are all colluding with government in their monopoly to surveil users. Ideally, one should only use desktop computers with libreboot, libre OS, and free software. The best thing you can do with your smart phone is not to use it
reply
“ A mobile device is a fucking spyware in your hands.“ Agree with you on that at certain degree. Not all the phones have spyware that’s being paranoid. You either stay where you are or embrace the technology and tweak it to your needs.
reply
very few phones dont come with spyware: linux phones, librem5, pine phone, and only other few. All phones manufactured by major players are spyware, with backdoors analogue to IME and TrustZone, but much worse

I'm not seeing where to initiate a post within the app. I can click on a post and then click on the arrow in the top right which seems to open a browser in which I can post...but that's a lot of clicks....
Ma non si potevano già scrivere i post?
reply
Is the app from the SN team?
reply
No, but stacker.news has easy to use graphql api, everyone can build app based on that...

What app? What?
