Yeah but what if an otherwise untalented mathematician writes up 20 papers and people think he is brilliant when he is really using AI under the table...

I actually think most mathematicians won't care if they came up with it or not.  Because mathematicians deal with absolute truths, it doesn't really matter whether an AI discovered or a human.  The truth is still the truth.

I'm too dumb to understand the math of this problem or Tao's blog but given how great AI is getting... how will you know if someone used AI or derived a proof on their own now?  Curious if some mathematicians will use AI to help them derive some critical insights but not own up to it...
