edit: 1967 was a turning point... France and England were primary arms dealers for Israel in 1967 and before... 1973 Yom Kippur War was when USA became primary arms dealer for Israel
1979 Camp David Accords codified payments to both Egypt and Israel

I agree. Both sides of the debate have an inherent incentive to paint the other side as motivated by hate, even when they aren't.

I am not bothered by hate as long as it's non violent

I haven't read this, but I've listened to John Mearsheimer speak and he seems fairly level headed? He wrote a book called The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy
Come to think of it, maybe this will be my next audiobook.
It's an important topic, and hard to get signal on vs. noise. There is a lot of genuine antisemitism out there, but also genuine Islamophobia. On the other hand, there is a lot of legitimate critique of Israel / Zionism, as well as a lot of legitimate critique about the Palestinian movements and Islamism more generally.
