The first time I walked into a bitcoin meetup, I was surprised to see someone I knew there. It was a very small group, making this extra surprising.
These days, I know quite a few friends own bitcoin, and at least a good chunk of those play shitcoin games as well. Many of them think that bitcoin will be replaced 'like myspace' or whatever, they're more likely in it for the gambling, blind to the potentially revolutionary aspects of what they're playing with.
But I know at least a couple friends that have taken the time to dig in deeper and gain a deeper technical and economic understanding of it all, and its very refreshing to chat with them.
Wish I saw your post when it was fresh.
I'm happy for you that you have a couple of friends that have spent the time. I wish so much I could move at least one person further along the path. The best I've been able to do is get people to DCA but everybody is just trusting me. It's kind of tiring caring the load all by yourself when the price dips 70% and stays down. Nobody has conviction they just know they don't want to be scolded by me.
