Without a doubt, the book "Saifedean Ammous - Patrón Bitcoin" is extremely important reading, and something every Bitcoin learner should read at least three times while starting down the rabbit hole.

The level of knowledge it provides is incredibly valuable, and it's hard to believe it's so easy to find and accessible to almost anyone.

Today, while reading, I came across these words.

Ralph Merkle, inventor of the tree data structure, or Merkle tree, which Bitcoin uses to record transactions, had a striking way of describing Bitcoin:

"Bitcoin is the first example of a new form of life. It lives and breathes on the internet. It lives because it can pay people to keep it alive. It lives because it performs a service for which people will pay it. It lives because anyone, anywhere, can run a copy of its code. It lives because all the running copies are constantly talking to each other. It lives because if a copy is corrupted, it is discarded, quickly and without any problems. It lives because it is radically transparent: anyone can look at its code and see exactly what it does. It cannot be changed. It cannot be argued. It cannot be falsified. It cannot be corrupted. It cannot be stopped. It cannot even be interrupted. If a nuclear war were to destroy half of our planet, it would continue to live uncorrupted. It would continue to offer its services. It would continue to pay people to keep it alive. The only way to shut it down is to destroy all the servers that..." They host it. Which is difficult, because many servers host it, in many countries, and many people want to use it. Realistically, the only way to annihilate it is to make the service it offers so useless and obsolete that no one wants to use it. So obsolete that no one wants to pay for it, that no one wants to host it. Then it won't have money to pay anyone. Then it will starve. But, as long as there are people who want to use it, it will be very difficult to kill it, corrupt it, stop it, or disrupt it."
