Actually, there are stunning Instagrammable places in Singapore, the likes of which can rival stores in Paris and Tokyo. This is particularly true of Pierre Herme Paris @pierreherme_singapore because it hails from France and has outlets in Japan. You just have to be willing to…

…queue.

But since queueing is Singapore’s national sport (and because the wife wanted to buy macarons), I persevered and finally made it inside. The huge 360-.degree counter captivated my attention as the store’s centerpiece, whetting my appetite with its colourful array of macarons and chocolates. Complementing the counter was a luscious pink glass ceiling which resembled the petals of a flower. It contrasted sharply against the vertical wooden slats, each contributing warmth and depth in different ways.

The space was clearly demarcated into various sections. Both the ice cream bar and furoshiki counter held their own against the 360-degree macaron counter. I just didn’t take photos of them because I didn’t expect to have the discipline to blog about this intriguing pâtisserie several months later. But here I am writing, and I urge you to queue up to partake in this next-level culinary experience.
