Poor @koob being the only one. I'll go, though it won't nearly be as long as theirs.
Hi, I'm Abe.

Me

I'm mostly a software developer with interests in electronics, computer science, mathematics, biology and art. Though abetusk is a pseudonym, my true name is plastered all over various projects and license files, so it's not very well hidden and I don't have a high expectation of being pseudonymous .
I have a page of some projects, along with many other random projects and repos on GitHub. I'm on twitter. I think many of my projects run into "a nice solution that lacks a clear problem".
I've worked for ISP startups, companies in finance (before the term 'fintech' was coined), consultancy and bioinformatics.

My Interest in Bitcoin

It's hard to pinpoint when I became full bullish about Bitcoin. I was aware of it for many years but only recently got more into it. I'm captivated by the promise of a fully decentralized currency that enables virtual commerce and provides banking to the masses.

What I'm Currently Doing With Bitcoin

I'm mostly trying to get up to speed. I'm trying to get a BTC/LND (via Raspiblitz) node running but it's slow going updating the blockchain history. Right now I'm just trying to get familiarity with using the network and core functions but I would ultimately like to try and do some development, preferably at "layer-3" and above, using BTC/LND for services and applications.

What I'm Looking Forward To With Bitcoin

I haven't felt this excited about a technology since the late 90s/early 2000s when the world wide web was starting to take off. People forget that discussions on "micro-transactions" were being talked about back then to guard against spam and make other online ventures sustainable. In my opinion, the major reason it didn't take off back then was because of the friction incurred by using credit cards or other banking services. Bitcoin, along with the lightning network, give a promise of finally implementing these ideas.
And not to sound too grandiose, but having a world currency would go a long way to help unify us globally.
Really happy to get to know you @abetusk!

I am a bit concerned about my total lack of soldering skills. I'll DM on twitter.
