I tuned in to CNN's News Years Eve broadcast live from NYC a couple years ago and was disgusted by how corporatist it had become (maybe it always was and I didn't notice?)

Even all the celebrators' hats had corporate logos on them, which they clearly handed out to everyone there. All the security fences were draped in corporate logos like a European soccer player.
