Sadly I don't think he will be eligible for MVP now. Maybe if he comes back right at the 4 week mark but NBA has a rule now that players need to play 65 games to be eligible for post season awards. If he misses all of January but plays every game for the rest of the season he will be at 63.

So he would have to come back right at the 4 week mark to play the last two games in January to be eligible.
