Handstands aren’t a trick.
They’re a skill.

They build real shoulder strength through full overhead range.
They load the wrists, elbows, and connective tissue so joints actually adapt.
They demand core tension, scapular control, and total body coordination.

You’re learning to stack joints under your own bodyweight.
No machines.
No momentum.
No hiding weak links.

This is strength, balance, and mobility expressed at the same time.
That’s athletic aesthetics.

Train skills that make your body capable, not just tired.

Follow for functional strength, mobility, and a body that performs as good as it looks 💪🏼

This warrants a bookmark. Even at my peak fitness, I never managed a good handstand.

Spend some time on your hands and knees working on your wrist Mobility so they are not uncomfortable when you practice.

Shift your weight forward and back to increase and decrease the amount of weight you're putting on your wrists and do it on your palms and the back of your hands.

Practice your handstands with your face facing the wall so you can practice bailing out if you fall backwards.

You got this.

practice bailing out if you fall backwards

...is definitely one of the most important components. Like most things, to achieve/ace handstands, you need to fail a thousand times. If you hurt yourself/can't fail properly, you won't get there

Fortunately, many years of martial arts and other athletics have given me excellent falling instincts

and the back of your hands
