practice bailing out if you fall backwards
...is definitely one of the most important components. Like most things, to achieve/ace handstands, you need to fail a thousand times. If you hurt yourself/can't fail properly, you won't get there

Spend some time on your hands and knees working on your wrist Mobility so they are not uncomfortable when you practice.
Shift your weight forward and back to increase and decrease the amount of weight you're putting on your wrists and do it on your palms and the back of your hands.
Practice your handstands with your face facing the wall so you can practice bailing out if you fall backwards.
You got this.
