Hi! We removed the markdown link a while back because we were so focused on providing a great WYSIWYG experience that the link would have been redundant.

Then we switched to a gradual stage-based release and I think I just forgot about it, let's see what we can do.
In the meantime, here you go: https://guides.github.com/features/mastering-markdown/

We shouldn't need this link once stage 2 ships.

This may be a sign of mental illness, but I’ll miss the formatting of my sn posts. Can’t wait for the new features though, as well as the new users I’m sure accessibility will bring.

I don’t think we will ever get rid of the Markdown Editor. We just want to provide an option for people that can’t/won’t use Markdown.

In fact, this editor is actually our new rich text editor, but we’re still writing in Markdown 😎

I just noticed that the italics on my post from today don’t respond to the little asterisks when posted. Doh! I should have posted this question first. haha

Thank you! Will investigate as soon as possible ‼️

It’s my own damn fault. I’m just self reposting dumbassery.

How is it your fault? I think I broke **formatting** in *some* way

reply

I assumed the change was intentional, but am happy to have caught a bug. I fault myself though either way for not doing better preview.
