Bears Niners rams

reply

I'll root for Panthers but Rams are a hot take here, though only Bears are going to the Super Bowl.

reply

Rams are going to win that game by 3 touchdowns. But let’s go Panthers.

reply

Don't pretend like you understand the Panthers

reply

I don’t but I won’t bet on them in the playoffs.

reply

Well said. Always cheer for the underdogs. It feels more satisfying.

reply

Bears
Eagles
Rams

reply

I think the Bears have lost intentionally to be matched against packers, haha

@grayruby won't like you pick Eagles who fared miserably in their game against commanders

reply

No, they were trying to win and blew it.

reply

Anyways I'm a man of my words, Bears will lift the Super Bowl and we'll see.

reply

It’s kind of ridiculous that the Rams and 49ers finish with the 2nd best record in the NFC and need to go on the road to play an 11-6 team and an 8-9 (haha) team. Plus the Eagles not only get the home game, they essentially get a bye week for all their starters because they were guaranteed a home game. If NFL wants to create more end of season drama and make the last week of the season games better they shouldn’t guarantee seeds for division winners. Division winners should get in but if you finish 8-9 you get the 7 seed.

reply

All 3 wrong

reply

No, Bears will win.

reply

They could all go either way. All 6 of those teams suck.

reply

Yeah, you want to say AFC teams don't suck?
Bills, Patriots, Jax, Broncos, Ravens, Texans, Chargers who don't suck?

It's a sucker of a professional sport tbh.

reply

Nope, most of them suck too, although they've been playing a little better the past couple weeks.

reply

Packers
49ers
Rams

reply

Cash Money Carlson!

Probably his last kick as a Raider was his best kick

Also, they have 14 points with no touchdowns.

reply

8 field goals, 1 safety, no touchdowns in the entire game. What a shitshow

reply

It really was. It was almost the first game to ever end 12-11 and is the only game to ever have 7 or more FGs, a safety, and no TDs.

reply

Wow!

Related - this parlay died last week, but ironic the chiefs are the only missing leg. I placed this back in August before the regular season started

Today’s game meant either LV or KC would hit

reply

Ouch

reply

It’s ok, I’m still up a ton overall. But I just kept watching this for months

reply

I bet you didn't expect the Raiders or Chiefs to be bad legs of that one

reply

I most certainly did not. But week after week, I got more and more anxious for it. Surely the raiders will break 3 and the chiefs 7. Surely!

All I am going to say is everyone sucks. Don’t let the Ravens get hot. They might just take out the best D in the NFL next week and then roll through the AFC.

reply

Crazy

reply

@grayruby do you have any NFL playoff contests lined up?

reply

Nothing specific. Do you have something in mind?

reply

I thought maybe like a points challenge that spans every round maybe? Haven’t thought much yet

reply

I am kinda tempted to run a contest to show my support for the territory, though my wife may kill me for taking on additional activities. But hey, my 3 fantasy leagues are over now lol

reply

USA vs the World 26 will start this week. If you want to do something for the playoffs that’s great. If you don’t have the time for it, I can manage it. Not a problem.

reply

Here's what I'm thinking.

  • 1k sats buy in
  • Wild Card Round - pick winners of each game, each is worth 1 point
  • Divisional Round - pick winners of each game, each is worth 2 points
  • Conference Championship round - pick winners of each game, each is worth 4 points
  • Super Bowl - pick winner, worth 8 points

Most points at the end wins the entire pot.
Tie breaker: Whoever had the most correct picks throughout the contest
Second tie breaker: Whoever got their super bowl pick in first

Picks for all games of a round must be in before the first game of the corresponding round starts.

What do you think?

Edit: Maybe the points should increase by 1 each round, not double? so 1, 2, 3, 4 instead of 1, 2, 4, 8?

reply

I think most correct picks and most points are too highly correlated. With the increase of points each round you could have one player get the same amount of points as another but less games correct which solves a 2 way tie but if there are multiple people tied there is a good chance that 2 of them have gotten the same amount of games correct.

Tiebreakers could just be some arbitrary stats from the Super Bowl- points, yards, touchdowns etc. That would also make it kind of fun if we had numerous people tied heading into the Super Bowl.

reply

Any other feedback? Do you think 1, 2, 4, 8 is good compared to 1, 2, 3, 4?

I'll prepare a post to make later today/tonight with your feedback

Fair enough! you are the contest expert haha

AFC Wild Card Fixtures

Patriots vs Chargers
Jaguars vs Bills
Steelers vs Texans

Now pick the winners, again ;)

reply

Pats
Bills
Texans

reply

My picks are

Pats
Jags
Steelers (hopefully)

What's special about Bills or WhatsApp bad about Jax?

reply

Jags might be the hottest team in the league right now but I am taking the Bills because they have had playoff success before. Jags haven't.

I am taking the Texans over the Steelers because the Texans have the best defense (or second best if you like Seahawks better) and they will make it hard on Rodgers. I don't think the Steelers will score alot.

reply

Garrett has the sack record

reply

Why did you resolve that before official score is in. What if they change it? Haha

reply

I did wait for the next snap, just in case something odd happened

reply

Boooo. I just sold most of my week 18 when it looked like he wasn't going to get it. I demand a refund. 93 touched Burrow. Might get revised as a half sack.

reply

I do think we should have an ability to pause a market prior to resolving it, because I was a little worried about that.

My position will be that he did break the record and was subsequently robbed by the league. Take it up with Siggy, if that's not satisfactory.

reply

Haha 93 touched him when he was already down. It wasn't close. I was just annoyed you resolved it so fast that I couldn't get back into the trade.

reply

They aren't postdiction markets.

If I have to watch the stupid Browns for two straight weeks, you better believe I'm resolving it quickly.

reply

I really want to watch the end of this Saints vs Falcons game but it isn't loading on Betplay.

Like they gave him that half sack against Allen

reply

Cards likely getting #3 overall pick as long as they don’t win lol

reply

They are hanging with the Rams.

reply

It would be a very cardinals thing to do to win this meaningless game and lose draft position

reply

Rams need the W

reply

@grayruby between the Eagle and Bears who do you want to see

reply

Would have preferred the unproven playoff Bears over the defending champs. Eagles D is going to pose the same kind of problem the Seahawks did if the 49ers don’t have Williams and Pearsall.

I expect the 49ers will play better but that will be a tough matchup on the road for them.

Plus the Eagles rested all their best players today so they should be fresh.

reply

Yea I’m worried for the 49ers playing in Philly

reply

Is what it is. They have to play a good game or the season will be over.

FFS Brendon Allen.... a Pick 6 man.... This is your time to shine and lead Tenn to a win

reply

Brandon Allen is terrible. He was the 49ers backup QB last year. Why is Ward out?

reply
40 sats \ 2 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

He hurt his shoulder when he dove into the endzone for Tennessee's touchdown.....

reply

Texans still get the 5 seed if they win?

That's not a bad path. Especially if it is the Steelers. Then they probably play the Patriots in divisional round.

reply
30 sats \ 0 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

Yeah but we have pulled everyone.... so I am not sure if we will pull off a win....

reply
109 sats \ 4 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

Man I completely forgot about this lol!!!

The Texans gotta be smarter than they are....

reply

Looks like they're going to pull it out

reply
99 sats \ 2 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

The big man rolled on it!

reply

Great ending!

reply
89 sats \ 0 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

I am pretty sure that that guy was the one that Stroud was supposed to hand it off to as well hahaha so he got his touchdown!

reply

Keeping an eye on Bengals-Browns for the sack record

reply
109 sats \ 2 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

Common Miles lets get it for the Dinos!!!!

reply

They're calling a lot of run plays

reply
89 sats \ 0 replies \ @Cje95 4 Jan

Cowards!!!

reply

With that Bengals OLine that should be a given.

reply

They're using some novel protections to stave it off.

reply

So ready to clinch the 5 seed and beat the panthers!

reply

Didn't the Rams lose to the Panthers? Maybe you guys should rest everyone and take the 6 seed and get an easier match up for you.

reply

We did lose

lol Eagles would NOT be easier!

reply

How about the Bears? Looks like they might be the 3.

reply

We’ll see!

reply

@grayruby of course this week Parkinson catches the TD!

reply

Ramsey went for the INT instead of the PBU and that will probably be the end of the Steelers season.

reply

Or not. Kickers!

reply

Should have kept Tucker /s

reply

If the Giants hold on and win, the Jets get that sweet second-round pick (unless the Jets also win, but Buffalo would have to sit a lot of people).

reply

Browns D is outscoring the Bengals O

reply

Yikes Jets are bad

reply

Texans lock up the 5 seed.

reply

Panthers are in. Either the Rams or 49ers will travel to Carolina next week.
