I know firewalla is all the rage with its advertising on Reddit, yet the lowest personal router is easily $470. Palo Alto routers are easy to get new and used, like the PA -220 and PA-440 but the service itself for the software is subscription-based and costs something like $2,000-2,500 a year. Any other options out there for a home network?

Wow the ads targeting you are weird. And those prices are insane. What are they offering?

When router shopping, I check to see which ones are supported by OpenWRT to get security updates for way more years than the manufacturer will offer.

I think GLiNet are pretty cool. https://www.gl-inet.com/
