The original artist of the Bitcoin Wizards meme just stacked 668,500,000 sats from 1,337 Lightning users on Saturday. Surprised that nobody else is talking about this.
It was a Bitcoin Ordinals mint and all the proceeds of the 1,337 inscriptions went directly to mavensb0t.
I know JPEGs are a controversial topic here, but I think it’s pretty cool that the artist that added so much value to Bitcoin culture just earned $150k worth of Bitcoin for his work… and the fact that much of it happened via Lightning is a big nod to the power of LN payments for fundraising on a relatively large scale.
I don’t have any hot takes about JPEGs on Bitcoin or the pros and cons of inscriptions, just found it odd that this story hadn’t been shared more broadly… I only found out about it today.
This is impressive even if you’re against NFTs.
I like that this project drew enough buzz to get these crypto NFT degens to finally try lightning network.
Whether or not you are for or against inscribing data to the timechain, it’s good to see this project attract attention to Bitcoin layer 2.
Many crypto people have been sleeping on LN and they believed that LB was vaporware and nobody uses LN.
I like that they chose to integrate LN into the mix.

Agree, this is good for the Lightning Network regardless of your opinions on JPEGs.

Nfts in theory are amazing, just need regulation. Artists deserve recognition and funding for their works. Full stop.
