A year ago, I was asked how I would justify the success of my involvement in the classroom during my JET interview.
I realised today that I taught my sixth-graders enough vocabulary to make the goal of teaching them the first verse of “Sukiyaki” within reach!
It’s something that won’t earn them extra marks in the examination hall but it’s an answer that soothes my conscience, for they can hum it to themselves when they get their hearts broken in the future. hahaha
