That's a lot to give up. Gore has a lot of upside but you're right he has been inconsistent. I guess it is a good add for Rangers but I don't really see them as contenders. They are probably the third best team in the west.

I get MacKenzie Gore has two years of control left but this seems to be a pretty sizeable overpay by the Rangers for someone who I wouldnt call an ace or even a number 2 pitcher.

Gavin Fien was the 12th pick in last years draft and the Rangers #2 prospect, Alejandro Rosario was there number 6, Devin Fitz-Gerald was there 12, Yeremy Cabera there 16, and Abimelec Ortiz was 18.

That is a hell of a lot of prospects and a hell of a price for a guy that hasnt been consistent for a whole season yet.
