pull down to refresh

alrighty everybody, i am a sucker for cheesy romance books.

i need a hit every of a book once in a while when i am in a reading slump to make me feel all giddy and happy inside with their predictability, and dialogue that hits your core to make you feel that feeling of falling in love all over again.

might i say that the bridgerton series is one of my comfort romance shows. and books to read?

ESPECIALLY benedict's book.

it was the first one i read, and have read his book way too many times.

i have been disgustingly obsessed over his love for sophie way too many times over the years.

and let me tell me you all the reasons as to why i think its the best book, and why i think it will be the best season of bridgerton.

1. it's cinderella-esque (obviously)

you have a main female lead (wonderful and sassy sophie) who is a maid to an awful stepmother and somewhat annoying stepsisters.

she sneaks out to the bridgerton masquerade ball minding her own business, until benedict bridgerton intervenes of course. COMPLETE AND TOTAL HEART THROB OF A MOMENT.

they dance, share some beautifully intimate AND UTTERLY ROMANTIC MOMENTS, she never reveals who she is, yet she knows all about him.

and when the clock strikes midnight she disappears into the night, holding onto the fairytale that was never (allegedly) meant to be, sophie keeps the night in her heart forever.

i've never heard of anyone hating a cinderella told tale or a remake of it. in fact, most of the girls i knew growing up were obsessed with the modern remakes with hillary duff, selena gomez, and lucy hale.

put the bridgerton name on a classic story and you have a winner.

2. benedict is number two.

i'm a second born, so maybe a small part of me has a place in my heart for benedict, but there is something so about the second borns who are often seen as the failsafe child, the mysterious and mischievous one who often gets away with doing most things in life. benedict has this carefree character about him, and what i like about his character specifically in the series is how he comes off as THE literal prince charming.

aside from the annoying shit the writers made him do in season 3 (don't even get me started on that), he is the epitome of an artistic, gentle, and open minded man who is reliable in every sense of the world.

i think out of his siblings, his love deserved to be exactly like this. he needs someone who surprises him unexpectedly, and someone who offers a level of confidence that challenges his own.

3. yerin ha is a perfect choice for sophie, and so was katie leung

somewhere in my soul, i prayed and begged and thwarted into the universe that we would see east asian representation in this show eventually. and yerin ha is the perfect sophie. innocent, sassy, smart and demure, i personally am very excited to see how she brings the character to life. also loee the fact she is so tiny, and he is like ten feet tall. height difference also makes me feel giddy inside.

i also can't wait to see katie leung do her thing too as the evil and awful araminta gun. we love it when we hate a character so much because it just shows how good the actors are at their jobs.

4. claims of the season being the most accurate to the book.

julia quinn said herself that bridgerton s4 would be the most accurate to the book, which I am over the moon about. LIKE FINALLY. there are so many crucial and iconic scenes from the book that are laugh out loud and NEED to be in the episodes. and also, i would get why it would be more accurate because season 3 received so much backlash for part 2. it was so bad. truly.

anyways, that's all. as i wait for the next four days, i am still scrolling through youtube shorts and instagram reels looking for all possible spoilers because idgaf at this point. i'm still so very excited to see what happens next!

have any of you read this book?

if not, what are you predictions?

let me know in the comments on what you think will happen this season!

Hahaha!!
