This is the one thing where I think the US is capable of beating the EU, big time. Affordability crisis across the pond is artificial: permissioning takes forever.
Less admin overhead on homes (just standardize permits and only deviations take time?) is the way to allow zoomers to also own something and be happy - given that Oracle won't build a DC next to pretty modern homes.

It's even more artificial over here. We have more land area and fewer people. They just have to allow people to live on uninhabited land.

It's part of the strategy for improving home affordability, but I don't know many details about how it's progressing.
