AI update from college land:

I give up trying to police students' AI use on take-home assignments. It's too hard to tell now, and too widespread.

This is something I need to ponder. Adults, ostensibly attending classes of their own volution, for their own benefit, often at great cost (both time and money) must be policed to prevent them from avoiding assignments.

Why not tell them that everyone will get an A no matter what. Then proceed to teach the ones who still show up?

(Sorry, feeling a little salty tonight)

I mean, I actually get it.

College serves a number of purposes, of which actual learning is only one. Getting credentialed (with or without learning) is another. The social experience is a third. Networking is a fourth.

Sometimes, learning takes a back seat, especially when life gets busy.

Those that want to learn have more tools than ever to do so. But those that want to be lazy also have more tools than ever to do so. It's up to me to make sure those who are lazy and don't learn get found out somehow, ~lol
