I'm in Jamaica, so these are the songs I feel like hearing:

How is it doing after the hurricane?

reply

It's really horrible. Many people are homeless. Driving around many of the roofs are still not repaired. I met a woman who has been living in an unfinished building. Her home was completely destroyed. We drove past the high school where Usian Bolt attended. It was a complete mess.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Do you get a feel for the sentiment at all? Are people picking up or do they generally feel defeated?

reply

I'm not a psychologist, and I haven't talked to that many people, but my sense is they are a tough, resilient lot. They seem to all be doing what they can to pick up the pieces.

Love me some Sloop John B.

You know, I'm not a big fan of the Beach Boys, but that song still amazes me all these years later. Talk about harmonies.
