It sounded cool, but so did Mastodon. As soon as I saw my notes from a second client, I was pretty hooked though. Still, as an Android user, I hadn't really found a client that worked for me yet. I use Twitter alot, and put effort in to my posts to grow a following. My posts are always honest, but I did put alot of effort in.
Last week, as I was approaching 1k followers, my Twitter account was suspended. Based on the conversations on Nostr, it was most likely from me talking about Nostr on Twitter. I was pretty upset. I quickly realized all the posts, all the followers weren't really mine. They were Elon's. And since he felt threatened, he took them away.
Now, he gave them back the next day, but the point was made, I wanted to start building something I actually owned, something that was mine. This is the "ownership of data" that the Web3ers talk about but never deliver on, but here it is. If you have the private keys, you have your identity, just like you have your Bitcoin.
I paid two months of twitter blue to help pay for the government corruption leak Elon did for us. The real alpha move now is just turn it off completely

Elon forgets that he has that power because we gave it to him.

I've mentioned nostr in a lot of my tweets over the last 6-10 months but I've yet to be banned for it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, apparently if I had my real phone number put in, I would have been able to unsuspend it quickly. Buttt... that would remove the point of being a nym.
