A data center in New Orleans East would probably do the area a lot of good. Providing incentives to install and maintain a more robust infrastructure and electrical grid in that region. Because, lets be honest, nobody moving to New Orleans is looking to live there atm and it can't get much worse for the people who already do. A data center is probably a good start to getting that area back into shape and revitalizing it. Probably a bad opinion, but NOLA East is so long gone and unsupported. Something needs to change for them.

Yeah if done right. Development needs infrastructure improvements period. But that adds additional cost to the project that more times than not a corporation doesn’t want to pay so it falls on the local community that doesn’t that’s the economics (aka tax base) to cover the needed improvements

That's true. And given that it's New Orleans, it's very likely they'll begin construction, experience a hurricane halfway through construction and then see the project abandoned.
