“If CBDCs are the end goal of fiat, it’s as good as certain that you won’t be able to buy Bitcoin with them. Before that, in the death roll there will be controls and bitcoin on-ramps will disappear.
Having all the services available in bitcoin by then would be great but it’s unrealistic, particularly as this is going to be global so some places will have coverage and others won’t.
Having a nostr economy going where the butcher can connect to a local relay and sell his meat for Bitcoin, or the candlestick maker can join The Silk Node and sell wares on a global Bitcoin marketplace, is the next best thing.
There’s a lot of infrastructure to be built to make that possible, but that’s one big Bitcoin on-ramp.
Any community with internet could come in to the bitcoin economy on nostr, run it locally, kept private and invite only, and also be connected to the broader world and markets.”

To be fair, CBDCs are not the end goal of fiat. They are a de-facto self defense against bitcoin.
Without bitcoin there would not be a CBDC.
