“ Lightbulb moment: 💡
When I zapped my coffee guy this morning, he said he had been looking into “satoshis” but couldn’t find it on any exchanges.
I said, “That’s because it’s just fractions of a bitcoin. You don’t need to use an exchange, except for when you’re buying bitcoin with fiat.”
Be patient with people, crypto has really done a number on them.”

No, no-no-no, nope, my good sir... satoshis aren't another scamcoin; they're just itty-bitty chunks of the original digital money.
I like how the transitive verb "zap" conveys lightning payment, but when the object is another human being, it sounds a tad bit aggressive. I wonder if there's a better term for these transactions...

Here's a poll that was on SN a few weeks ago of the potential terms.

Same here in Málaga some days ago. Me and my wife together with another couple talking about the economy and the inflation. The guy then asked me: "You have Bitcoin, right? O would like to, but with 24.000 it's too expensive." He wasn't aware of the divisibility... we downloaded WoS, made some transfers and now he's a full blown fanboy. Very nice experience

Valid point but 1 minute of research would have gotten it done for him.

There is literally a shitcoin called SATS which uses the BTC logo and is pegged to a sat.
There is also a shitcoin called Bitcoin Lightning which uses the BTC logo with a lightning bolt going thru it. Totally unrelated to BTC.
So no 1-min of research is likely to leave noobs even more confused.

Of course there is. The swindle never ends.
