From boat strikes to boots advising raids.

“The United States and Ecuador have launched joint military operations against ‘designated terrorist organizations’…”

NYT reports U.S. Special Forces are “advising and supporting Ecuadorian commandos” on raids “across the country” against suspected drug shipment facilities and other drug-related sites.

The U.S. official said Americans are not believed to be participating in the actual raids, but are helping plan operations and providing “intelligence and logistics support.”

Southern Command called it “a powerful example” of partners working to combat “narco-terrorism.”
