I'm surprised you didn't mention the movies! There's the Schwarzenneger one on Mars, and a reimagining from a few years ago that places the oppressed colony on the opposite side of Earth.

Lots of people might only recognize the author's name from credits of movies. It's a bit sad that so few people read these days, although at least good stories are surviving.
