18 hours riding One Day18 hours riding One Day

Here a campfire. Lights the page before at the needle foot of my quill. Lights ym stockings on -- ohww!! Now, lights my toes which protrude thru my stockings. and thats O-K, is why I have my gator skins.

Eighteen hours wi'oowt stopping, past South Border, I rode along leaving my favorite mare Slim Grey behind preferring One Day, whose ginger coat and robust constitution reminded me of the blood that got spilled to inspire such a journey. She's red all right, an' she's well, too -- my, well red One Day.

but my eyes are laden like ym sixshooter and I shorez shit didn come here to tell you about One Day, but she did bring me South and Back with out so muchez bringing about a dust cloud or two. Eighteen steady hours and I fjord the Rio Grande --there, before making thiseer camp (& I dream of another fine specimens like One Day, sauntering past my window, hips glistening with sweat in the sun)

18 hours no breaks what a ride.

Dear Muser,

You may have seen me sharing the Orwell quote, "War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength," and it is mostly in response to people cheering on war. Like, seriously.

Bitcoin from a Stoic Perspective

@Kontext aligns some of the principles in Bitcoin to those in Stoicism. I am quite enamored by this quote in "Entropy and Order" so far. Very lit:

The logos contains in itself an indefinite amount of entropy, which is also mimicked in the mining process.

@plebpoet refrains from writing about the morally repugnant, but I say, lean into it. Not every corner can be pretty. (Lolita, by Nabokov, for example?)

[REVIEW] Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams

@Scoresby turned me on to some cyberpunk fiction in this (his first in the Muse?) post. Seems like a hardboiled sci-fi, with a twinge of pulp-western.

I used to spend an unholy amount of time playing Fallout games (New Vegas & 4)... an aspect I really enjoyed was modding. I ended up doing a "propaganda posters" mod for FO4 to give the player, at least aesthetically, more freedom in how they want to position the faction. A bunch of those posters ended up taking a lot of cues from 1984.

Thanks for featuring my essay, btw! :)

Maybe you should have some of those printed up on demand?

Hmm that's an interesting idea! I've also thought of making some Bitcoin propaganda posters in the style of @Scoresby and making a mod for it, but haven't committed to it and quite frankly, I'm a bit nervous about re-installing the game, the old habit of spending hours in the game each day might kick back in (:

Yeah, if you have laid off the sauce, you don't want to start drinking grandpa's cough syrup again. Gaming has become far too addictive for many.

thanks for putting it in the territory!

Well, if you had waited, or I had been earlier, you could have included my just posted book review too. After 800 page Victorian literature or 200 page Victorian literature that reads like 800 page modern literature, a fast, modern read was necessitated.

To answer your question about being online, though, I don't think anyone likes being in a dumpster fire. Everyone went online originally to get away from the dumpster fire. Times change.
