No! It's @sox's fault. I still don’t get when this happens, but sometimes when you paste text, the editor puts in these invisible special characters, and that messes up the markdown. In this case, I lost like 5 seconds fixing it! Hahaha

I deprioritized a fix for these copy/paste shenanigan to focus on the next release, but enough, let’s search and destroy this bug.

  1. Are you using Android? If so, what keyboard?
  2. Where did you copy the text?
    I assume from the title or from stacker news but idk

I'm using the browser on PC. Yeah, in this case, I copied the title of a post and the editor added some character at the end of the text. This makes the bold markdown command not work.

Sorry, I need more details because I can't reproduce it at all across Brave, Chrome and Safari (on macOS).
What browser are you using?

I'm using Brave. The only difference from your video is that I used Ctrl+C Ctrl+V, and the markdown command was inserted manually (** -> Ctrl+V -> **). I just tried 3 times, and one of them worked fine, but 2 times the same thing happened.

What's happening is that you're placing the bold markdown markers on two distinct lines separated by a newline \n.

@0xbitcoiner btw I'm not invalidating the cases in which some special characters can actually pop up. I'll keep my eyes open

I didn’t even notice the video had sound! I think it might have to do with manually selecting the text to copy. Like I said, it doesn’t always happen. Thanks!

I use an iMac and a regular keyboard.
I took the link from the Telegram channel, and translated the text through Google Translate to be sure.

I just checked here #1450713 the duplicate search blinked, I did everything as usual, but I remember before the Similar section always appeared (regardless of the duplicates found), now it doesn’t appear!
