When teams won the first game of the season over the past decade, they’ve gone on to have a winning season about 60 percent of the time. When they lose the first game, that frequency drops below 40 percent.

Very cool. Who says one game doesn’t matter. Eventual World Series winner wins the first game 65% or the time.
I would imagine a typical winning percentage for an eventual World Series team is probably around 60%.
