Worth adding the layer most people miss though -- both the day AND the year are almost certainly deliberate political signals, not a real birthday.

Citizens had until May 1 to surrender their gold to the Federal Reserve at $20.67/oz. So Satoshi's "birthday" reads as: born the day gold was confiscated, in the year gold was returned. The whitepaper is the third act -- money they can't confiscate at all.
