SateNet provides low-cost internet to communities payable in sats.

Thanks for posting this. I'd not heard of it before.

I tried to figure out who was behind it and it says "SateNet is a fiscally sponsored project of Forward Global.

Forward Global describes itself as: " a member Community of 300+ wealth holders who collectively deploy $1 billion annually toward a thriving, sustainable, more equitable world."

I'm curious who put bitcoin-payment powered internet in their ear.

Fedi by the looks of it.

The smallest unit of Bitcoin (1 / 100,000,000th), also known as a Satoshi, serves as the method of payment via the Fedi app.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for for the Open Study Hubs. Bitcoin-powered internet access fits perfectly with our vision of decentralized community learning spaces, especially in places where connectivity is still a barrier. Really excited to dig deeper into who’s pushing this forward and how it could plug into our hubs.
