I would take those odds. The problem is they have two other really good teams in their division (although the Phillies also suck right now) and you have a bunch of teams that will be in the WC mix.

So the sportsbooks and analysts definitely think the Mets can defy historical trends.

Assuming it's not just Steve Cohen throwing money at those bets.

But yeah, Mets fans have to be eternal optimists, given what we've put up with over the years.
