My favorite downtown Austin smash burger spot, Burger Bar, raised their prices:
- their double cheeseburger that was once $9 is now $10
- the 'add regular burger patty' option went from $2 to $3
- their tendeiss went up too (at least $1 but I don't know by how much - not as big on tendies)
- their 'burger of month' (now a cheesesteak) went from $12 to $14
tbh they always felt a little underpriced for the quality. A well seasoned smash burger on a toasted potato bun that you can order and eat on Congress' curb, any day of the week, from 11am-2:30pm, is hard to beat.
(I tried looking on Wayback Machine for their old menu but they used some kind of iframe that didn't survive archiving. Trust me breh!)
I am a smash burger thusiast.
Also, I wrote about ZIKI's disappearance. Oh and my general (and under-experienced) Austin recommendations.
I'm waiting for in n' out to raise their prices on me.
My order is so chaotic from them, e.g. "six flying dutchman with grilled onions," that I wouldn't notice.
I was super intrigued by their secret incantations strategy.
I recall when we were traveling in the US somewhere around 2012 that someone recommended to order "<something something> monkey style", can't remember the full spell, but what we got handed was tasty.
It's like Harry Potter, but replacing the drama with tasty stuff your arteries crave.
they've got In and Out in Austin?
yep! three of them iirc
