Oh, I'm sure it'll work. That's not the question. The question is: what's being traded here? And in this case it is bells & whistles coming in at the cost of greatly increased complexity, reduced auditability (was already not optimal, but fine), and bottom line that means user safety.

It's the kind of tradeoff that is common in normie space (think: Windows), not so much Bitcoiner space. But it's a legit choice and theirs to make, it really just means I need to find something more suitable and this will ultimately have to go - not upgrading is not a viable strategy and this was before this update already not of good enough quality to fork & maintain.

I think @Scoresby used the right word here: sad.
